Introduction

The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame’s 2026 Induction Ceremony & Dinner once again brought together the leading personalities of the maritime community for an evening dedicated to the people, values and achievements that continue to define Greek shipping.

Held at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall in front of more than 580 guests from Greece and abroad, this year’s ceremony carried particular historical significance, marking 80 years since the landmark agreement that enabled Greek shipowners to acquire 100 Liberty ships in the aftermath of World War II, a defining moment that laid the foundations for the modern global leadership of Greek shipping.

As in previous years, Moore Greece was honoured to support the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame by overseeing and independently verifying the voting process for the induction procedure, contributing to the transparency and integrity of an institution that preserves the legacy of Greek shipping for future generations.

During the evening, Moore Greece Partner Pinelopi Kassani had the privilege of announcing this year’s inductees: Captain Nikolaos Frangos (1926–2016) and Kadio Sigala (1882–1967), two remarkable personalities whose contribution left a lasting mark on the industry.

Honouring Captain Nikolaos Frangos

Captain Nikolaos Frangos was recognised for his significant contribution to the post-war development of Greek shipping and for the enduring impact of his leadership within the industry. Through his distinguished maritime career and his role in co-founding Good Faith Shipping, he became associated with the growth, resilience and international reputation of Greek shipping during a transformative period for the sector.

Celebrating the Legacy of Kadio Sigala

Kadio Sigala was honoured for her pioneering presence in Greek shipping and her contribution during a period when female participation in the industry was exceptionally rare. Her induction highlights the broader human stories behind the evolution of Greek shipping and recognises the determination and vision that helped shape its legacy.

A Celebration of Greek Shipping Heritage

The annual Induction Ceremony & Dinner has become one of the most distinguished gatherings of the Greek maritime community, celebrating not only business success but also the history, culture and human stories behind the industry.

The Greek Shipping Hall of Fame, established as an independent non-profit initiative dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of Greek shipping, today includes some of the most influential figures in maritime history. Through its annual induction process, the institution continues to educate new generations about the achievements and contribution of Greek shipping to global trade and transportation.

For Moore Greece, supporting the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame reflects our long-standing relationship with the shipping sector and our commitment to institutions that promote transparency, excellence and continuity within the maritime community.

We extend our warm congratulations to the organisers for another exceptional event and sincerely thank the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame for their continued trust and collaboration.

Moore Greece remains proud to support initiatives that honour the people whose vision and leadership helped shape one of the world’s most important industries.
